Deputy Minister Rovshan Rustamov meets with ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao

A bilateral meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rovshan Rustamov, who is on a working visit to Geneva to attend the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council, which started its work on 21 March, and ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao.

At the meeting it was noted that relations between Azerbaijan and ITU are developing dynamically and cooperation is at a high level.

The Deputy Minister stressed that Azerbaijan, as a member of the ITU Council, actively participates in the work of the organization and closely cooperates with the three bureaus of the organization on the main goals of the ITU. The sides stressed the importance of further expanding relations, especially in the post-pandemic period, in accordance with the existing potential.

During the meeting, they also discussed preparations for the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union to be held in Bucharest at the end of this year. Secretary- General Houlin Zhao wished Azerbaijan success in its candidacy to the Council and the Radio Regulations Bureau in the elections during the Plenipotentiary Conference.
