About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummatov met with a visiting delegation headed by Executive Director of Conference on Interaction & Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) Kairat Sarybay.

Issues related to the cooperation of the Republic of Azerbaijan with CICA as coordinator of the confidence-building measures in the field of security and effective development of transport corridors were discussed at the meeting.

There was also an exchange of views on Azerbaijan’s participation in ongoing projects to enhance regional cooperation in transport and prospects for regional cooperation.
