Certificates awarded to graduates of Israel Innovation Exchange Program
On March 19, the Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dan Staw met with the graduates of the Israel Innovation Exchange Program realized by the High-Tech Park.
Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade attended the meeting. He spoke in detail about the work carried out in the field of information and communication technologies and the introduction of innovations in Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the Israel Innovation Exchange Program has created opportunities for Azerbaijani startups and leaders of the innovation ecosystem to cooperate with Israeli accelerators and meet with global investors.
During the meeting, Dan Staw met with the graduates of the program and listened to their impressions of the visit to Israel. He also spoke about supporting the entrepreneurial development in Azerbaijan by exchange programs with which the embassy cooperates.
Director of the High-Tech Park Tural Kerimli shared his opinion on the program and spoke about the wider prospects of further cooperation with Israeli accelerators and investors.
After the official part, discussions took place with startups. Then the ambassador awarded certificates to the graduates of the exchange program.
It should be recalled that on March 4-8, business meetings were held in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv with the organization of the High-Tech Park of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and the participation of representatives of the innovation and startup ecosystems within the Israel Innovation Exchange Program.
On March 5, the program participants met with Avi Luvton, Senior Director of Israel Innovation Authority in Tel Aviv.
During the meeting, the participants were provided with extensive information on the activities of the authority, and discussions were held on the impact of the public and private sectors on the innovation ecosystem.
Valuable recommendations were given to startups operating in the health sector, and prospects for further cooperation were discussed during the meeting with head of MedTech Value Creation Rani Shifron.
Furthermore, program participants visited the Peres Innovation Center.
On March 6, the participants familiarized themselves with the Technology Park in the city of Be’er Sheva. The Israeli experience of cooperation with universities regarding the commercialization of patents was discussed at the meeting. Head of Tech 7 Yotam Zuker spoke about the activities of the technology park, noted the great role of universities in the formation of the ecosystem, gave valuable recommendations to startups and responded to a number of questions.
Then the Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the office of the company WeWork and the Digital Innovation Lab for startups of the company Tech 7.
At the same time, Azerbaijani startups Onbranch, Tap2Doc, Virtual Surgery, Healthy Living Support Platform presented their projects to investors.
Program participants also visited Israel’s largest college Sapir. The rector of the college and the head of the media department gave the guests detailed information about classes held, students and main principles of this educational institution.
On the last day of the visit, the delegation took part in the conference 2019 OurCrowd Global Investors Summit held in Jerusalem.
Meetings were held with startups from various countries, investors, representatives of leading incubation and acceleration centers, and venture funds during the conference, where an investment portfolio totaling $1 trillion was presented.
The participants attended the opening panel, heard presentations by well-known investors, familiarized themselves with the best Israeli startups. Moreover, Azerbaijani startups represented their projects to investors.
According to the program of activities, following the panel, the participants took part in the ShukTech: Networking and Pitches summit to provide information about their projects.
Moreover, during the visit, director of the High-Tech Park Tural Kerimli gave an interview to the Jerusalem Post and Channel 9.
