Cause of problem on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp made public

As it is known, on October 4, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users could not access these platforms for several hours.

The Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies says that according to the information released by Facebook, the interruptions in the provision of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services were caused by a configuration error.

Changes in the configuration of the main network devices that make up traffic between the company’s data centers have affected internal systems and networks, and made the recovery process more difficult.

According to the company, there is currently no evidence of user data leakage.
