Baku hosts international scientific-practical conference on “Accountability and transparency in the digital economy”
On September 16, an international scientific-practical conference on “Accountability and transparency in the digital economy” was held in Baku, co-organized by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Chamber of Auditors.
Before the start of the conference, the participants of the event came to the Alley of Honor and honored the memory of national leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, and laid flowers at his monument.
They also honored the memory of the outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and laid flowers at her grave.
Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors Professor Vahid Novruzov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Tahir Mirkishili, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov, Chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Certified Public Accountants of the Union of Certified Public Accountants of Turkiye (TÜRMOB) Erol Demirel, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Self-Regulating Auditor Organizations of the Russian Federation Sodrujestvo Igor Kozyrev opened the event and welcomed the guests and wished them success in the work of the conference. The conference then began its work.
Within the framework of the conference, wide discussions and exchange of experience were held on creation of joint information phases in increasing transparency and reporting efficiency in the digital economy, application of artificial intelligence in the digital economy, impact of digital transformation on economy, digital solutions in economic growth, increasing role of digital technologies and technologies in ensuring transparency in tax administration, reporting and audit in the digital economy, public importance of international financial reporting and its audit standards, modernization of accounting of organizations in the digital economy, digital ecosystems, “green business”, compilation and analysis of the main indicators of consolidated reporting in the digital economy, training of new generation, education and issues of cooperation.
The conference featured presentations and interesting discussions on topics such as “The role of an accountant in the protection and development of public interests”, “The role of digital solutions in ensuring transparency in financial accountability, including artificial intelligence: views from science and businesses”, “The role of EFAA for SMEs in the digital period and in practice transformation: small and medium-sized practices and views in small and medium enterprises”, “The effect of digital transformation in the economy”, “Economic growth: Digital solutions “, “The role of digital technologies in ensuring transparency and efficiency in tax administration”, “Accountability and Transparency Challenges of Modern Times”, “Digital Accountants at the Center of Digital Accountants”, “The Impact of Digitalization in Turkiye in accounting, taxation and auditing”, “The public importance of financial statements on international financial statements and its audit”, “The issues of establishing joint information phases in the development of transparency and reporting efficiency in digital economy”, “Developing the digital economy in a connected world”, “Modernization of accounting for organizations in the digital economy. Digital ecosystems, Green Business “, “Transforming the roles and responsibilities of financial managers in the digital economy”, “Transparent reports in the digital economy”, “Problems of development of audit activities in Russia in the context of digitalization and external control”, “Digital product: crypto world – a great challenge for modern tax management”, “Audit in Digital Economy” and “Accountability and 1 audit in Digital Economics” and the conference followed by interesting discussions.
As part of the conference, a cooperation agreement between the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Belarus, and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India were signed.
More than 100 delegates representing prestigious international organizations such as the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the European Federation of Accountants and Auditors for SMEs (EFAA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and eight countries (Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Russia, India, Georgia, Belarus, Belgium and Moldova) attended the conference.
Along with foreign guests, representatives of the country’s state and non-governmental organizations, the private sector, the media, higher education and research institutes, staff of the Chamber of Auditors and its members took part in the event.
At the end of the event an appeal was adopted to President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of the participants.
