Baktelecom began providing broadband services in Surakhany and Sabunchu districts
Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) continues to upgrade the telecommunications infrastructure and bring it in line with modern international standards as part of the “Online Azerbaijan” project. At the next stage, the necessary equipment for the construction of a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) fiber optic network providing fast and uninterrupted internet access was installed and put into service in the streets of 14 July, 3rd Kondalan, 4th Kondalan and Zeytun state farm in Yeni Surakhany settlement of Surakhany district, in the township for displaced people from Shusha in Ramana settlement of Sabunchu district, in residential areas of Gushchulug and Zeytunlug state farms of Hovsan settlement.
One thousand twenty-five households (60%) in Yeni Surakhany settlement of Surakhany district were covered by high-speed internet.
In addition, a network for 8,896 subscribers has been built in the township for displaced people from Shusha in Ramana settlement of Sabunchu district. Two thousand one hundred and five subscribers currently use the internet service. The cable laying based on GPON technology has been carried out on 75% of the territory.
The construction work being carried out in Surakhany and Sabunchu districts is expected to be completed before the end of this year.
With the introduction of the new GPON fiber optic technology, subscribers are offered higher-speed internet packages (from 30Mbit/s to 100Mbit/s). These packages are as follows:

– Internet+telephony+television package (3 in one)
The cost of services varies from 18 to 56 AZN, depending on the selected tariff and user requirements.

It should be noted that relevant work on the application of modern technologies to provide high-speed internet in other regions of the country is also going on as planned within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project, implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
