Aztelecom LLC covered more than 90% of Ganja city with high-speed Internet

Aztelecom LLC continues its work on upgrading telecommunications infrastructure and bringing it in line with modern international standards within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project. At the next stage, the necessary equipment for construction of the GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) fibre optic network providing fast and uninterrupted access to the Internet was installed and put into operation in the city of Ganja, and design work based on GPON technology were carried out.

More than 90 percent of Ganja city is covered by high-speed Internet. Currently, about 20 thousand households and business entities use the services on the territory of the city. Connection of new subscribers is ongoing.

With the introduction of the new GPON technology, subscribers are offered higher speed (from 30 Mbit/s to 100 Mbit/s) internet packages (Internet, Internet+telephony, Internet+television, Internet+telephony+television). The cost of services varies from 18 to 54 AZN, depending on the selected tariff and user requirements.

To connect to the services, citizens can call 170 Call Center of Aztelecom, apply to the territorial service department (Ganja Telecommunications Department, address: 1 Ahmed Jamil Street, Ganja city), as well as submit an application through the official website of the company.

Relevant work to provide high-speed Internet in other regions of the country is also underway in accordance with the plan within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project on the use of modern technologies implemented by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

It should be noted that the number of households with access to broadband Internet has increased to 2.49 million within the framework of the “Online Azerbaijan” project implemented since 2021. This represents 85 percent of existing households and businesses in the country.
