Azerpost LLC held a briefing on the results of 2023.

Speaking at the briefing, Acting Chairman of the Board of Azerpost LLC Isi Mustafayev reported on the work done by the company in 2023, as well as financial results.

It was noted that Azerpost, moving to the stage of renewal from 2021 and striving to develop in the field of e-commerce, successfully tested and launched its three major projects in 2023.

Thus, the cargo service Postcargo, which has a customer base of over 20,000 people and delivers online orders of goods from Türkiye, today serves citizens in 1,113 branches. At present, the delivery of parcels from the USA is being carried out in test mode, and it is planned that the service will be fully operational in the near future.

It was reported that Azerpost has deployed its first AZ1000 digital delivery unit at the central post office for use by its customers. The automated self-service mailboxes operate without human labor on a 7/24 basis to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

It was added that the company has put into service PUDOs, special service points designed only to deliver  online orders. Currently, PUDOs operate from 9:00 to 21:00 in about 50 locations.

Speaking about the organization of postal work in the country, Isi Mustafayev noted that regular reconstruction work has been carried out in the territories liberated from occupation since 2020. Thus, a post office was opened in Hadrut in 2020, followed by a post office in Jojug Marjanly. And in 2022, the provision of postal services began in Aghaly village in Zangilan region. Work is currently ongoing to establish Khankendi postal branch, identify administrative buildings for the organization of postal services in the cities of Shusha, Lachin, Khojavand and Askeran.

It was emphasized that the annual income of the company in 2023 amounted to AZN 72.3 million. This is 10 % more than in the corresponding period last year. Last year net profit was AZN 4.6 million, and EBITDA was AZN 11.5 million. During this period the company’s expenses amounted to AZN 67.5 million, which is 10% more than in the same period last year. The main part of the cost increase is labor costs. Thus, at the beginning of 2023, a 17 % increase in the minimum wages caused an increase in expenses.

It was noted that the implementation of the operating bonus set as a target for 2023 has begun to increase the monthly income of Azerpost employees.

At the same time, it was informed that the main goal of Azerpost for 2024 will again be to increase the level of material well-being of employees. An increase of 15 % is planned in this direction in the budget.

Answering the questions of media representatives, the head of the company noted that the transformation processes started by Azerpost last year will be continued next year as well.
