Azercosmos represented at International Astronautical Congress in Dubai

A delegation of Azerbaijan Space Agency (Azercosmos) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is participating in the International Astronautical Congress taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 25-29 October.

 

The congress, which is traditionally held annually by the International Astronautical Federation and brings together representatives of the space industry at the global level, this year is dedicated to the theme “Inspire, Innovate & Discover for the Benefit of Humankind.” The congress is attended by government officials from space countries, governmental and non-governmental organizations, international organizations, representatives of renowned research and development centers, space scientists and astronauts.

 

The Azercosmos delegation, represented at the congress with stands IAC 2023 Baku and Azercosmos, informed the event participants in detail on the history of Azerbaijan’s space industry, the space programs implemented in the country and the role of satellites.

 

The opening ceremony featured panel presentations on the experience of leading space agencies of the world and developing countries in this area, their development paths, as well as innovations in the global satellite industry, the use and capabilities of small satellites in the application of innovative technologies for research and development.

 

The panel provided information about our country’s achievements in space sector over the past 10 years, the activities of the Azerbaijan Space Agency, the establishment of global and regional space diplomacy and partnership, the continuous development of knowledge and skills in space science, education and industry, as well as the importance of cooperation established in the field of telecommunications services and Earth observation for our country.

 

The International Astronautical Congress is being held in the Arab region for the first time in its 70-year history. New global space trends with interesting and rich programs, such as the UAE mission to Mars and the Global Networking Forum are on the agenda of the congress.

 

At the plenary sessions and technical sessions that will take place during the next days of the event, the participants will exchange views on the use of artificial intelligence in the space sector, modern satellite solutions, the importance of science and innovative technologies, strengthening human capital and ongoing initiatives. This congress is an important platform for making space opportunities and emerging trends accessible and useful to all by strengthening international ties between developing countries.

 

It should be noted that the representation of the Azerbaijan Space Agency at this congress is an indication of the process of rapid preparations for the 74th International Astronautical Congress, which will be held in Baku in 2023. The congress to be held in our country will open up new opportunities in terms of further developing the ecosystem of the space sector, inculcating the importance of space for future generations and contributing to space initiatives in our country.
