Azerbaijan’s relevant radio broadcasting stations registered internationally
The registration of relevant radio stations of Azerbaijan with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was ensured despite the protests of the Armenian side.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan has taken appropriate measures for the international registration of its radio broadcasting stations in order to ensure their unimpeded operation.
Discussions have been held in Geneva at different times since 2019 with the participation of ITU officials and experts. During the discussions, the technical reports submitted by Azerbaijan to the International Telecommunication Union for registration proved that the FM radio broadcasting stations of Azerbaijan have no interference effects on the broadcasting stations of Armenia.
As a result, unfounded protests made by Armenia were withdrawn and the registration of Azerbaijan’s above-mentioned radio broadcasting stations with the ITU was ensured.
It should be noted that in recent years, the Armenian Communications Administration has unreasonably objected to Azerbaijan’s appeals made to the International Telecommunication Union for the international registration of our country’s radio stations in order to ensure their unimpeded operation. These groundless protests of the Communications Administration of Armenia led to the fact that the country’s radio stations were not registered with ITU, which created obstacles to the activities of the Azerbaijani side.
No one should forget that all the radio stations registered in Nagorno-Karabakh are in the name of Azerbaijan in the International Telecommunication Union, and these stations cannot be the subject of discussion. As a result of the discussions, we were able to have our radio stations in Tovuz, Gazakh, Nakhchivan and other parts of the country registered at the international level, so as not to create any obstacles for our radio stations. It should be noted that the ITU is a UN agency, and since the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is unequivocally accepted, no station within our territories can be registered in the name of Armenians, and we are constantly watching this.
