Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Joint Commission on International Road Service held its next meeting
The next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Joint Commission on International Road Service between Azerbaijan and Ukraine was held in Baku on May 30-31.
The Azerbaijani delegation at the event was headed by Chief of the State Moto Transport Service of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Habib Hasanov, the Ukrainian delegation was headed by Director of the department for strategic development of the road market and road transport of the Infrastructure Ministry Victor Sasin.
The meeting discussed the current situation in the field of international automobile transportations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, exchange of statistical data, problems encountered by road carriers during transportation of goods and passengers, ways of their solution, prospects of transportations and other topical issues.
Chief of the State Moto Transport Service Habib Hasanov informed the Ukrainian delegation that in some cases Azerbaijani carriers entering the territory of Ukraine subject to unnecessary inspections and unfair claims by customs officers at border crossing points and at the same time carrying out their cargos through the territory of Ukraine by customs inspectors of this country’s Road Transport Department. At the same time, it was noted that in order to eliminate unnecessary obstacles in mutual cooperation, favorable conditions have been provided for Ukrainian carriers to avoid any special inspection cases when entering the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Director of the department for strategic development of the road market and road transport of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine Victor Sasin said after examining the issues mentioned, necessary measures will be taken. He also informed about the innovations to be introduced in the field of international road transportation in the near future by the Ukrainian government.
Highlighting the existing route of international passenger transport between Baku and Kiev, the sides agreed to explore the state of passenger traffic between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the future and, if need be, open new routes for international passenger transportation between other Ukrainian cities.
At the same time, extensive discussions were held on determining the number of quotas for issuing permits for the implementation of international transportation between the two countries in 2019, and it was noted that the issue will be considered at the next meeting that will allow the sides to bring forward mutual proposals.
Following the discussions of the above mentioned issues, as well as other urgent issues on the agenda, the next meeting of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Joint Commission was concluded with the signing of the relevant Protocol between the delegations.
