Azerbaijan represented at international exhibition ITU Telecom World 2017
Annual ITU Telecom World 2017 international exhibition-conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is being held in the city of Busan, South Korea.
The event, which is attended by high-level officials of relevant state structures of member countries, entrepreneurs, scientists and representatives of regulatory authorities, is considered an important event in terms of introduction and discussion of the latest technologies and services in the relevant field , innovative solutions, startup projects.
ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao, Minister of Science and Information Technologies of South Korea You Young-Min, Mayor of Busan City Suh Byung-Soo delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the exhibition-conference. The video message of the President of the Republic of Korea, Moon Jae-in was shown to the participants.
A delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade, is representing Azerbaijan at the event. The delegation includes relevant bodies of the ministry, private ICT companies and startups.
Ministers and deputy ministers from 52 countries are participating in the exhibition-conference.
Azerbaijan’s national pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, is being demonstrated at the ITU Telecom World-2017. Our country has regularly been represented at ITU Telecom World exhibitions by national pavilion since 2009. This year, Azerbaijan is the only country from the countries represented in Europe and Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, which is being represented at the exhibition by national pavilion.
After the official opening ceremony, ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao, South Korean Science and Information Technology Minister You Young-Min, Mayor of Busan Suh Byung-Soo, heads of delegations attending the event, familiarized themselves with Azerbaijan’s pavilion within the VIP tour. They were informed about projects implemented in our country in the ICT sector, startups, the newest services of mobile operators, the activities of the High-Tech Park, the portal E-government etc.
ITU Telecom World 2017, which plays a global platform for accelerating innovations in the ICT field, will continue its work until September 28.
Within the framework of the event, various forums, seminars, presentations on ICT field will be organized, and in the exhibition part various solutions of countries and companies will be demonstrated in national pavilions. Moreover, the representatives of our country will deliver speeches at ministerial meeting and bilateral meetings. More than 20,000 people are expected to visit the exhibition within three days.
