Azerbaijan Innovation Award winners became known

The winners of the Azerbaijan Innovation Award (Innovation Award), held within the framework of InnoWeek – Innovation Week 2020, were announced on December 25 in a special broadcast on air of Khazar TV.

 

Last year, the winners of the Innovation Award were determined in five nominations, but this year their number was seven.

 

The startup NextSale, which offers solutions for online sales platforms in the nomination “Startup of the Year”, was announced the winner by Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade.

 

In the nomination “Influencer of the Year”, well-known blogger in the field of technology Tariyel Aghazade was awarded by Executive Director of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Farid Jafarov.

 

The virtual hackathon HackCov19, which brings together technological solutions to combat the coronavirus, won the nomination “Innovation Event of the Year”, which was announced by Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Innovation Award Imran Baghirov.

 

The project “Get VAT back” (ƏDV geri al) was announced the best project in the nomination “Innovative Project of the Year” by Director of the INNOLAND Incubation and Acceleration Center Mamed Kerim.

 

“Representative of the Innovation Ecosystem of the Year” – SUP.VC was awarded by Executive Director of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation Farid Jafarov.

 

The startup SUMAKH, which develops artificial respirators, received an award in the nomination “Leading presenter of solutions for COVID-19”.

 

And Pasha Holding became the winner in the nomination “Supporter of the Innovation Ecosystem of the Year”, determined by the jury.

 

The Azerbaijan Innovation Award, held for the second time, was established in 2019 with the aim of supporting the players of the local ecosystem. In general, the process is aimed at ensuring that the country is among the leading states in the global innovation ecosystem under the motto “Innovative Azerbaijan”.

 

The Azerbaijan Innovation Award is an award on a voluntary basis, and the organizing committee is appointed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, which is responsible for implementing the strategy in the field of technologies and innovations in the country. The responsibility of the organizing committee is to provide transparency and non-conflict of interest in the selection process of jury members.
