4th Trans-Caspian Forum held in Washington

The 4th Trans-Caspian Forum co-organized by the Caspian Policy Center and the Embassy of Azerbaijan to the United States was held in Washington D.C., USA.

 

The main purpose of the forum was to hold discussions on the development of projects implemented in the countries of the Caspian Basin in the field of transport, transportation through the East-West transport corridor in the direction of China-Europe and back, as well as increasing the potential of transport corridors passing through the region.

 

The annual forum has been held since 2016 and brings together politicians and business leaders of the United States and representatives of the countries of the Trans-Caspian corridor to discuss the strengthening of strategic partnerships, business, trade and investment opportunities.

 

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, State Maritime Agency under the Ministry, Baku International Sea Trade Port, Caspian Shipping Company, and American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham Azerbaijan) took part in the event.

 

The Forum discussed issues such as cooperation in the field of trade facilitation along the East-West route through the Caspian Sea, the expansion of regional trade and business, as well as energy.

 

At the event, the participants were also provided detailed information on projects of international importance implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of transport, facilitation of transportation, simplification of border crossing and customs procedures, combination of transport rates, introduction of ICT in freight and passenger transportation and the latest innovations in this field.
