10th meeting of Joint Commission on Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Austria held

The 10th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Agricultural, Industrial, Technical and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Austria was held in Baku.

 

A delegation headed by Franz Wessig, co-chairman of the Joint Commission from the Austrian side and head of the Foreign Economic Relations Group of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Economic Affairs of the Republic of Austria, has arrived in Baku to take part in the meeting.

 

Speaking of cooperation issues between Azerbaijan and Austria, Rashad Nabiyev, the co-chairman of the Commission from the Azerbaijani side and Minister of Digital Development and Transport, noted that our diplomatic relations have a 30-year history.

 

Rashad Nabiyev informed the Austrian delegation of the reconstruction and restoration work carried out in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from Armenian occupation as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War.

 

The minister said that the document “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”, approved by the Order of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in February 2021, highlighted the development of small and medium enterprises, export growth and the promotion of private investment as drivers of economic growth.

 

Rashad Nabiyev added that it is important to regularly exchange information on Azerbaijani and Austrian exporters and their products and establish direct contacts between business circles. The Joint Commission serves as an effective platform to facilitate this exchange of information and establish new business relations.

 

The minister expressed confidence that the 10th Meeting of the Commission would be useful for the development of our ties.

 

The meeting also discussed the current state of economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. There was also an exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation in trade and economic ties, transport, ICT, agriculture, food security, energy, tourism and culture.

 

Following the meeting, the Minutes of the 10th Meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Agricultural, Industrial, Technical and Technological Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Austria was signed.
