10 most powerful women in ICT sector to be awarded

The role of women in the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector in Azerbaijan is increasing. In its turn, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies supports the expansion of women’s activities in ICT. Thus, Azerbaijani Women in ICT Club (FEMMES DIGITALES) - the first professional structure in the country bringing together women related to ICT was established in 2014 at the initiative of the ministry.

The ICT Club of Azerbaijani Women - FEMMES DIGITALES is implementing the initiative #AWITA - awarding women in the field of information technologies. This is one of the largest events dedicated to the recognition of women carrying out activities in technologies in our country.

The event demonstrates women’s successes and innovations in the field of technologies achieved in the last 12 months or over a longer period, and identifies new task models. It also encourages further dialogue in order to develop relationships among key players of the sector.

Additionally, the award is given to “new stars” in this sphere – the women providing services and rapidly developing in the IT field, including eliminating gender inequality at their workplaces.

The winners are determined by a jury consisting of representatives and heads of vendors, distributors, public and private bodies in 10 categories.

10 most powerful women in the ICT field will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held on December 5.
