Webinar regarding the International Safe Internet Day

Please note that on the International Safe Internat day a webinar has been held on the safe use of internet for the pupils of 5th – 11th classes. The event was available on the platform “Virtual school” provided by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Ministry of Education, E-Security Service, ICT Applying and Training Center, in cooperation with Kaspersky, Microsoft and Azercell.
More than 1200 secondary school students and teachers of different cities and districts of the country have attended the webinar.
During the event, Aysel Hadiyeva, officer of E-Security Service of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, gave a presentation focused on cyber-threats that children and teenagers face while using social networks, theft of bank account data belonging to their families, and phishing scams targeting at teachers and pupils as well as on methods of protection from such kind of threats and frauds.
Sabina Hajiyeva, an officer of Informatization Office of the Education System, spoke about safe internet e-learning opportunities offered to educational institutions within the framework of “Virtual school”, which is a platform of the Azerbaijan Education Network that provides qualitative and interactive online learning as well as useful internet resources generally available on the portalof the Ministry of Education.
In view of the above-mentioned, the webinar was highlighted by the presentations of Mushfiq Mammadov, official representative of “Kaspersky” in Azerbaijan, Qachay Mirzayev, Chief Manager of “Microsoft Azerbaijan”, Samir Rasulov, the employee of “Azercell” and Ayaz Karimov, the employee of “ICT LAB” Applying and Training Center.
Main topics of discussion were protection of personal data on the internet, rules to create passwords for social networks and e-mail accounts, and scammers blackmailing teenagers in the virtual world.“what cyberbullying is and how it can be prevented” was also discussed. As part of this, various video materials were shown.
In the final part of the webinar, several issues raised by the participants were clarified and some recommendations were made.
