About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

President signs Decree on some measures to improve governance in the field of maritime transport

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree on some measures to improve governance in the field of maritime transport.

According to the Decree, public legal entity State Maritime and Port Agency is established under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport on the basis of the State Maritime Agency under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as public legal entities the Navigation Safety Center and Transport and Technical Maintenance Department of the State Maritime Agency.
