President Ilham Aliyev: More attention will be paid to the development of non-oil sector
“In the coming years, we will continue reforms carried out in previous years. At the same time, of course, more attention will be paid to the development of non-oil sector.”
This was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the first session of the Azerbaijani Parliament’s fifth convocation. The President noted that today the non-oil sector accounts for about 70 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Azerbaijan, it should become even more that, certainly, will provide the long-term development of our country:
“The diversification, the development of non-oil sector, improving the business environment, attracting foreign investments, removal of artificial obstacles, fight against monopolies - all these factors will ensure our economic development.”
The President also stressed that, in addition to that, the implementation of infrastructure projects in the regions should be continued. This year’s economic and social indicators suggest that even in the years of crisis, Azerbaijan’s economy can grow rapidly and successfully.
“Security, active foreign policy, economic reforms, fight against negative occurrences, our devotion and commitment to powerful military potential and core values - that is the path that leads us into the future. Azerbaijan is a modern state, but the state is built on deep national and spiritual values. For us national values, Azerbaijani values are above all. Azerbaijan is on the path of independence and will go on. We defend and will always defend our independence,” said the Head of State.
