About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili is on visit to our country.

During the visit, a meeting was held between Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev and a delegation led by Levan Davitashvili.

At the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the prospects for cooperation in transport and ICT following the discussions last week in Tbilisi.

There was a discussion on further increase in the volume of freight traffic on the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, which is one of the main components of cooperation between the two countries.

The sides also stressed the importance of developing transit potential between the countries.
