About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Meeting held at Ministry of Digital Development & Transport with IsDB representatives

As part of the visit of country operations manager at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Farid Ahmed Khan to Azerbaijan, representatives of the bank visited the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

During the meeting with the delegation, discussions were held on current issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the bank, and potential projects that can be financed by the IsDB.

The sides also discussed the bank’s support for projects in the field of transport, smart city, smart village, in particular urban transformation, as well as technical support of the bank in the field of digital transformation.

In addition, the opposite side expressed its intention to cooperate in financing specific projects in the field of ICT, transport and infrastructure in the territories liberated from occupation.
