About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

A delegation from the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan has visited Azerbaijan.

The visit, aimed at familiarization and short-term experience, took place within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek experts visited the office of the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport and its subordinate agencies from 15 to 22 September.

During the familiarization with Azercosmos Main Ground Satellite Control Center, the delegation was provided with detailed information on Azerbaijan’s telecommunications and Earth observation satellites, as well as promising projects in the space sector.

The Uzbek experts also visited the Innovation & Digital Development Agency, where they were informed in detail of Azerbaijan’s innovation ecosystem, including startup support mechanisms.
