About Ministry

Based on Decree No.1464 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11 October 2021, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies was renamed the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport. The aim was to increase the implementation of digitalization and innovation in the country, develop radio spectrum management, communication and information technologies, improve regulatory mechanisms and create a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is the central executive authority implementing state policy and regulation in the fields of transport (except for cases determined by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan), including maritime transport and civil aviation, communications (telecommunications and post), e-government, high technologies (information technologies, microelectronics, nano, bio and other innovative science-intensive technologies)
The ministry implements state policy and regulation in the fields of transport, communications, e-government and high technologies.

Azercosmos signs memorandum of understanding with Turkish Space Agency

Azercosmos under the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport and Turkish Space Agency have signed a memorandum of understanding in the space sector. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 73rd International Astronautical Congress in Paris.

The Memorandum foresees enhanced cooperation in remote Earth observation and technology development, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial experience and knowledge exchange programs to assess commercial and educational opportunities in the space sector.

The document will facilitate joint activities of Azercosmos and Turkish Space Agency in international space projects, active cooperation in the development of the local space ecosystem, space science and other areas.
