A meeting was held between telecom operators of Azerbaijan and Russia

A high-level meeting took place today with the heads of telecom operators.

The meeting was led by Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmir Velizade and Advisor to the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mamonov.

The event was attended by the heads of mobile communications and telecommunications companies of Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as responsible persons.

The meeting discussed issues of effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in the fields of mobile communications, telecommunications and post.

The sides exchanged views on issues related to the quality control of cellular communications, reduction of prices for international roaming, joint activities of mobile operators of both countries and expansion of cooperation in this area.

The meeting reiterated the importance of preventing the illegal activities of Russian operators in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

The sides also discussed the issues of ensuring the transmission of international traffic entering Azerbaijan into direct channels on a full scale.

Negotiations were also continued in the area of expanding cooperation in the development of electronic trade exchange in the postal field.

Moreover, there was an exchange of views on the joint fight against SIM box devices to prevent the illegal use of international telephone traffic.
