Global Blockchain Conference 2019 was held in Malaga (Spain) with the participation of representatives of international organizations and companies specializing in the field of blockchain.
The event was attended by heads of blockchain and cryptocurrency companies from over 70 countries, representatives of public and private entities, investors, traders and financial regulators.
Our country at the conference was represented by head of the Department of Innovative Development of Information Society and Electronic Governance of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Rashad Azizov, President of Global Oracle Association for Leaders Leyla Baghirzade and founder of Akhundoff Group and co-founder of Azerbaijan Blockchain Center Telman Akhundov.
Speaking at the event, Rashad Azizov spoke in detail about the growing interest in blockchain technologies in public and private sectors in developed countries, the application of this technologies in innovative entrepreneurial activity and their impact on the digitalization of the economy. The ministry’s representative informed the participants about the international experience in blockchain technologies, current potential in our country and future prospects.
The conference discussed the prospects of creating an EaP platform for the development of blockchain technologies in the Eastern Partnership countries.
At the event, the project Digital Identification System implemented by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic in cooperation with IBM was presented as a successful example of the use of blockchain technologies in the region. The EU4Digital workshop on blockchain technologies was also held as part of the conference.
The main objective of the conference is to manage the risks of blockchain technologies, create a legal framework in the relevant field, and assist in the formation of the new generation Internet and digital economy.
