Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev has met young people selected for the Technest scholarship programme in Goychay as part of his next visit in connection with the reception of citizens.
Representatives of local community and the city’s executive leadership also attended the meeting with the scholarship holders.
The minister congratulated the young people who won the scholarship in Goychay and wished them success in the upcoming academic period. Speaking about the regional activities of the Technest scholarship programme, Rashad Nabiyev also stressed the importance of enhancing knowledge and skills in the ICT sector in the region.
It should be noted that within the framework of Technest programme implemented by the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy has started training sessions in Goychay since March 2. At the training sessions that will take place over 6 months in an intensive form, the scholarship holders will be taught the specialty “Basics of programming”.
It should be noted that the Technest scholarship programme was launched in October 2021 at the initiative of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. The aim of the programme is to accelerate the training of national staff in the field of information technology, eliminate existing gaps in this area and contribute to the digital development in the country. The agency works closely with 12 training centres in over 50 professions in this area. The total number of students and current graduates who have received scholarships in 2021–2022 is 618. Some 3,000 new scholarships are expected to be awarded in the current academic year.
