Today the international exhibition and conference ITU Telecom World, traditionally held by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), began its work.
This year, ITU Telecom World, considered the largest international event in the field of telecommunications, is being held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao delivered speeches at the official opening ceremony.
A delegation of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies is representing Azerbaijan at the event, which will last until September 12. The delegation includes representatives from relevant bodies of the ministry, private ICT companies and startups.
Azerbaijan is also represented at the exhibition by the national pavilion, which demonstrates the country’s achievements in the domestic ICT sector, innovative services, applications and solutions. A VIP tour to the pavilions took place today.
It should be noted that our country has regularly been represented at ITU Telecom World by its National Pavilion since 2009.
It is to be noted that the international event is being held under the motto “Innovating together: connectivity that matters.” The main theme of the ITU Telecom World 2019 is to expand cooperation between governments and organizations with the view of improving the lives of people through digital technologies.
